Joint resolution adopted by the lox and Maury Literary Societies.
As a joint committee representing the Lee and Maury Literary Societies of this Institution, we respectfully submit the following resolutions with reference to the proposed Convention bearing upon the contemplated "Inter Collegiate Association of Virginia." 1st. Resolved, That we concur with the Societies of Washington and Graham-Lee in having this Convention at Lynchburg, on the 5th and 6th of April next. 2d. Resolved, That we participate in the above Convention, and send a delegate from each Society.

Committees.
W. J. Lawrence and S. P. Withers have been elected by the Maury Literary Society as Editors of the Gray Jacket, for the ensuing term. The names of the editors of the Lee Society for this term will appear in our next issue.
It gives us much pleasure to learn that our friend, Colonel Pennington has passed a satisfactory examination, and is now teaching a flourishing school near his home in Mecklenburg county. He has the good wishes of his old friends in Blacksburg.
Lieutenant Rumbough, class of '74 and '75, was the successful candidate in the late examination for West Point, which was held in Lynchburg. We wish him much success.
Lieut. D. W. Lynch is farming at his house near Abingdon, Va.
Capt. W. Bocock and R. B. Minor are at the University of Va., the former studying law, the latter striving for the degree of A. M.
T. WT. Evans and W. E. Pranklin are teaching subscribe, and you will prove friends indeed school in Campbell Co., Va.
W. G. Hix is at Richmond College, studying for the ministry. "Annie" is determined to be a preacher.
