EDITORS GRAY JACKET :-Seeing in your last issue that you desire to hear from the old students, sometimes, I write to inform you that all of us have not forgotten you, as you suppose. We are always glad to hear from Blacksburg, and are much gratified to hear of the success of our college thus far, and hope it may continue to prosper. We notice too the improvement in your nice little paper, it is quite a treat to read it; think you have the "right men in the right place" for editors, and see no reason why you should not succeed in making a good paper of it. Often does the writer find his thoughts running back over the good old times spent with you, they are pleasant to recall, and make him wish for a return oF his schoolboy days. Amid the cares and vexations of business life, how pleasant are the recollections of our Mountain Village ! Although not of an envious disposition, yet I cannot help feeling a little jealous of you all, for I have just learned that we cannot fully appreciate our school privileges and pleasures until deprived of them. The memory of Blacksburg and its good people (especially the ladies,) will ever be fresh. Hoping you abundant success with your paper, Messrs. Editors, and that you may all leave college with well-earned honors, and that success may attend you through life, allow me to subscribe myself,
-AN OLD STUDENT.
