This entertainment, which took place at Mrs. Caldwell's, was quite an elegant display. Every one seemed to be surprised at the elegant costumes that the young people got up on such short notice, especially those charming creatures—the ladies. The ladies represented the follow ng characters, viz : Miss Nellie L—, Night ; Miss Lilie L Rainbow ; Miss Rebecca L—, Fairy Queen ; Miss Olive J—, Snow Flake ; Miss Jennie P Daughter of the Regiment ; Miss Sophie P Shepherdess Miss Lelia P , Confideacy ; Miss Bettie P—, Indian Girl ; Miss Claiborne C Bowpeep. These ladies performed their parts admirably, and added much fascination to the occasion. As for the gentlemen, their costumes were of such a variety and so very ridiculous, that it would require too much space to describe them. But we must not forget the Big Indian and his companion, also the man with the Churn on his head, and the too big fellows who added so much amusement to the occasion, especially when they danced the jig. We must not fail to mention Buck, and his two fellow musicians who performed upon their stringed instruments " as sweet as when the morning stars sang o'er creation's birth."

As the company was so pleased with this grand entertainment, we hope the Sociables will not make this their last one.
