Randolph Harrison, class 74, is farming at his home near Staunton, Va.
We don't know where "Buck Shot" Coleman is. The last we heard of him he was standing an examination for West Point.
Sergeant R. Critz is "sowing oats" in Patrick county, Va. Friend Robt., where are the names of those subscribers you promised us?
A. R. Heflin, class 74-75, is teaching school in Falmouth, Va. We hope he is succeeding well in teaching the "young ideas how to shoot."
Mr. C. M. Evans, agent for A. Picken, Jeweler, Bristol, Tenn., called at our sanctum a few days ago and exhibited some beautiful specimens of badges, medals, &c. See advertisement in another column.
Gen. Wharton, Rector of the Board of Visitors of this College, was in Blacksburg a few weeks ago.The "Nigger Minstrel Troupe," escorted by forty students, gave him a serenade at the Western hotel. The General stated that he could not speak, but added that his friend, Col. Ronald, could. Where-upon the worthy Colonel, being introduced, responded to the calls of the cadets in an appropriate, precise and complimentary little speech. Gen. Wharton has many true friends among the students, who will never forget his kindness to them, and will always be happy to give their cheers when his name is uttered.
Our ex-editor, Cora. C. S. Bill, graced our sanctum with his presence a few weeks ago. He stated that he was making fine progress farming at his home, in Patrick county, Va.; was looking around to find a companion, &c., &c. Brother B., may "your shadow never grow less."
T. W. Artman, class 74-75, is in business with his father, in Suffolk, Va.
