The new College buildings are now being erected. The foundation of one of them was laid a few days ago and from the progress already made, and the untiring zeal and energy of the contractors, we hope to see those most splendid buildings reared.
When these are completed we no longer expect to have gathered here 222 students, as is now the case, notwithstanding the incommodius buildings; but we expect to see from 500 to 1000 of Virginia's sons here, drinking at the fountain of knowledge.
Two of the Professors' houses have also been commenced, and President Minor's, would probably have been completed, had there not been some misunderstanding between the college authorities and one of the contractors, who was to furnish brick for this particular building.
