Meteorology from June 1875

From tri-daily observations, taken at the Meteorological Office of the Va. Agricultural & Mechanical College the following results were obtained for the past month.

Average temperature for month 69.6 degrees.

Warmest day, found by averaging the three observations, was the 24th., 80.21 degrees.

Highest reading of thermometer at any time was at 2 P.M. on the 11th., 85 degrees.

Lowest reading of minimum thermometer was on the 8th., 42 degrees.

Average standing of barometer for the month 27.20 in.

Highest standing of barometer 27.5 in.

Lowest standing of barometer 27 in.

From the results obtained by the barometer, Blacksburg was found to be
2220 ft. above the sea level.
