OUR sanctum recently received a very welcome visitor in the character of a Literary Monthly, entitled the Suffolk Gem, edited by Messrs. Rawles & Briggs, of the "Lee Literary Society" connected with the Suffolk Collegiate Institute. It is attractive, neatly printed, and from the number of original and interesting articles the first issue contains, we predict for it a bright future. Of course, we welcome it to our Exchange List. An ex-member of the Lee Literary Society is happy to hear of the great success of that order, which claimed his membership during its infancy.
We are glad to add to our exchange list the Bristol News. It is a handsomely gotten up paper, and is edited by Mr. I. C. Fowler, who represented his county this year in the Legislature. We are confident that he reflected credit on his county as well as on himself.
We have received the first number of the Conservative, a very attractive and ably edited paper, published at Salem, Va.
The Southern Collegian is on our table. It is as neat and readable as ever. We must particularly commend the article on American Literature.
What has become of the Classic Index?
