It becomes our sad duty to chronicle the death of one of the most highly esteemed Cadets of our Institution. Mr. J. B. McCulloch. This exemplary young man had endeared himself to the entire school by his quiet and unobtrusive manner, and in his death we lose one of the worthiest and kindest of students. We extend to his family our deepest sympathy in this their sad bereavement.
The dread disease of which he was a victim was pronounced by the physicians of the town to be scarlet fever. His remains were interred at his home in Botetourt.
