First game of the season. "Tuscarora" B.B.C. of Roanoke College, Salem, vs. "Alleghany" B.B.C. of V.A.M.C. Played at Blacksburg, score 53 to 13 in favor of Alleghany.
Second game of the season. "Crescent" of Christiansburg, vs. "Alleghany." Played at Blacksburg, score 31 to 9 in favor of Alleghany.
Third game of the season. "Tuscarora" vs. "Alleghany." Played at Salem, score 27 to 21 in favor of "Tuscarora."
There will be a match game of Base Ball between Roanoke College Club, and Washington Lee Club, on Saturday, May the 5th. 1877.
Back again, and beaten. Back from Salem, and beaten by the Roanoke College Base Ball Club. We are not dispirited at our defeat, for that is soon forgotten. But the kind and courteous attention shown us by every student of Roanoke shall ever be remembered by us, and recollections of Salem ever be associated with the noble "Tuscarora." Thanks to the sweet lady who gave to one of us such a beautiful bouquet, may the rememberance of her always be our consolation in defeat, and dedicated to her be our offerings in victory. For "one" she has made defeat a pleasure, the "nine" her champion.
